Delivery & transport
Based in Belgium, Vlaamse Tegelmeesters delivers handmade ceramic tiles for projects throughout Europe. Transport beyond Europe can also be explored for suitable projects.
Tiles are heavy and fragile, and are often finished for a specific project. We therefore tailor transport to the quantity, weight, destination and nature of the order.
Destinations
Delivery is available to all 27 member states of the European Union:
Delivery to most mainland European destinations can usually be arranged without special customs formalities. Islands, remote regions and destinations with different transport, VAT or customs arrangements are confirmed and quoted individually. Examples include the Greek islands, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Corsica, Sicily, Sardinia, Åland, Cyprus and Malta. Delivery to Ireland remains possible; a separate transport quote may be required.
Outside the European Union
Delivery to Switzerland is available on request. As Switzerland is not part of the European Union, customs formalities apply. Transport is quoted individually. Any Swiss import taxes, customs clearance charges, carrier administration fees and other import costs are normally payable by the recipient, unless otherwise agreed in writing in advance.
On request
Delivery to England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland may be possible on request, but is not part of standard delivery within the European Union. Transport and customs requirements are assessed for each destination. We confirm feasibility and the transport price in advance; automatic delivery or a fixed shipping price is not guaranteed. Import VAT, any duties, customs clearance and carrier charges may be payable by the customer.
Confirmed individually
Delivery to other European countries outside the European Union may sometimes be available on request. These may include Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina or Moldova. Customs, transport costs and feasibility are assessed individually; these destinations are not guaranteed as standard.
Destinations outside Europe
Transport to North America can be explored on request for suitable projects. Each quote is tailored to the destination, order and transport method.
For suitable projects
Delivery to the United States can be explored for suitable orders and projects. Transport is always quoted individually. Given the distance, customs formalities, transport costs, and the weight and fragility of ceramic tiles, feasibility depends on order size, destination, required packaging and chosen transport method. Import duties, taxes, customs clearance charges and other import costs are normally payable by the recipient, unless agreed otherwise in advance. This service is intended for larger architecture, interior design and residential projects, not standard webshop parcel shipping.
On request
Delivery to Canada can be explored on request for suitable orders and projects. Transport is quoted individually; feasibility depends on order size, destination, packaging and transport method. Import duties, taxes, customs clearance charges and other import costs are normally payable by the recipient, unless otherwise agreed in writing in advance. This service is intended for larger projects, not standard webshop parcel shipping.
Current delivery area
We currently do not deliver to Russia, Belarus or Ukraine.
Carefully arranged
The suitable transport method depends on the order. A secure parcel service may work for smaller orders that are suitable for parcel shipping. Other consignments travel on a pallet, as freight or through specialist transport for larger or especially fragile batches. Tiles are packed carefully. Not every small order can be shipped as a parcel.
Agreed in advance
The transport price depends on factors such as destination, quantity, total weight, pallet requirements, access to the delivery address and the carrier required. Where no automatic rate applies, you will receive a transport quote in advance. Transport costs are shared before confirmation; no unexpected transport charge is added later to an order already agreed.
Production and shipping
Production time and transport time are separate stages. As tiles are made by hand and sometimes produced specifically for a project, lead times vary by collection, quantity and studio schedule. The expected production and delivery schedule is shared with the quote or order confirmation. Fixed timeframes apply only when expressly agreed.
On delivery
Check the delivery as soon as reasonably possible. If there is visible transit damage, photograph the packaging first and then the damaged tiles where possible. Contact Vlaamse Tegelmeesters promptly and keep the packaging until the situation has been assessed. This does not affect your statutory rights.
