Handmade tiles

Handmade Ceramic Tiles from East Flanders

Every tile is shaped individually and finished in small batches in our Belgian atelier.

After shaping, raw tiles dry slowly between wooden boards. They are then bisque fired at 1080°C. Each piece is sanded and washed before the selected glaze is prepared and applied in the atelier.

A final firing at 1180°C brings colour, gloss, and depth together. Small differences in edge, tone, relief, and glaze movement remain visible, giving a finished tile field its quiet handmade character.

Made slowly

Shaping, drying, bisque firing, sanding, washing, glazing, and final firing follow a deliberate atelier rhythm.

Variation belongs

Tone, edge character, and glaze movement vary naturally within every handmade batch.

For real projects

Collections, samples, and planning are discussed for concrete interior and architectural projects.

From raw clay to a finished tile field.

Most current tiles have a typical format of approximately 10 x 10 cm and are about 1 to 1.5 cm thick. Colour families range from mineral green and cobalt to burgundy, bronze, turquoise, and warm relief.

Samples and final batch availability are confirmed directly with the atelier. An inquiry can begin with the intended setting, approximate area, preferred direction, project location, and timing.

Process

A material direction begins with a sample.
