Online payments and orders
For online purchases we process your contact information, billing and delivery addresses, selected tiles, quantities, project notes and payment status to perform the sales contract. Stripe processes payment information on its hosted payment page; our website does not receive complete card numbers. Pending checkout information is stored privately in Netlify Blobs and removed after 30 days by the configured cleanup task. Confirmed paid orders are kept for order handling, accounting and applicable legal retention obligations. A local browser marker prevents the same confirmed payment from clearing your cart twice; it contains order references only. Stripe and Netlify act as service providers under their applicable privacy terms. See https://stripe.com/privacy and https://www.netlify.com/privacy/.
1. Introduction
Vlaamse Tegelmeesters treats privacy as part of a discreet working relationship. Personal data is used to understand inquiries, answer requests, prepare sample or project communication, and maintain a functional website.
2. Data controller
The controller responsible for personal data shared through this website is:
Vlaamse Tegelmeesters
Merlijn Van Uytfanghe
Hoogstraat 20, 9185 Lochristi, Belgium
atelier@vlaamsetegelmeesters.be
For full business identification, see Business details.
3. What personal data we collect
When you use the inquiry form or write directly, we may receive your name, email address, optional telephone or WhatsApp number, preferred contact method, contact role, optional project location, approximate surface area, project type, preferred glaze or finish direction, message, and any project details you choose to include. A full address may be requested later only when needed for quotations, delivery, site visits, or sample requests.
4. Why we use this data
This data is used only to reply to your inquiry, coordinate project communication or appointments where relevant, prepare sample or project follow-up, and keep a reasonable record of project correspondence.
5. Contact and project inquiries
Inquiry details are handled directly by the atelier. If the form handler is not yet connected, your email client may open with the project details so you can send the inquiry yourself.
6. Samples and project communication
For sample requests or active projects, communication may include surface direction, intended setting, timing, delivery or collection arrangements, and material-board or client review needs.
7. Local language preference and cart
The website stores your language preference locally in your browser using localStorage key "vtm-language". The key "vtm-tile-cart-v1" stores selected tile collections and quantities so your cart remains available as you browse and reload pages. Contact, delivery and billing details are not saved in the cart. Submitted quantities are removed after a successful request. You can remove items in the cart or clear your browser's site storage. This storage is not used for advertising or profiling.
8. Website hosting and technical logs
Like most websites, hosting providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps, and security logs. This is used to deliver, protect, and maintain the website.
9. Form handling and email providers
Inquiry forms submitted through this website may be processed using Netlify Forms in order to securely receive and manage project inquiries. Additional information regarding Netlify’s handling of data can be found in Netlify’s own privacy documentation.
10. No newsletter by default
Submitting an inquiry or sample request does not add you to a newsletter or mailing list. Your details are used for inquiry handling and project communication, not for unsolicited marketing.
11. No sale of personal data
Vlaamse Tegelmeesters does not sell personal data. Data may be processed by necessary service providers such as hosting, form handling, email, or professional advisers where relevant.
12. How long data is kept
Inquiry and project communication is kept only as long as reasonably useful for responding, project follow-up, administration, legal obligations, or reference in an ongoing working relationship.
13. Who may receive data
Data may be received by the atelier, website hosting providers, email or form service providers, and, where necessary, delivery partners, installers, accountants, legal advisers, or authorities if required by law.
14. Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of your personal data. You may contact atelier@vlaamsetegelmeesters.be to make a request.
15. Security
Reasonable care is taken to handle inquiries discreetly and limit access to relevant communication. No website or email system can be guaranteed completely secure.
16. International transfers
Depending on the final hosting, email, or form provider, personal data may be processed outside Belgium or the European Economic Area. Where relevant, this depends on the safeguards offered by those providers.
17. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the website, form handling, business details, or legal requirements develop. The latest version will be published on this page.
18. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, contact Vlaamse Tegelmeesters at atelier@vlaamsetegelmeesters.be.
